Statement
My childhood fascination with color and pattern are visible in the structural rhythms of my paintings today. My paintings invite participation because of their patterns, forms, texture and color.
As a result, my paintings work like jazz, stirring feelings without narration.

Christine Muratore Evans was inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night" Interviewed by Dolores Mitchell: Art Talk- March 2018: Muratore Evans recalls that at l7 she took a train from her home in Long Island to have lunch with her sister in Manhattan. "I got there too early. My sister was still working and told me to visit nearby art galleries for an hour or so. I discovered an entire museum devoted to modern art, walked in, saw a Paul Klee in the lobby, and thought 'Oh, my God, I'm home! Art doesn't have to be realism.'"
Then upstairs, I was transfixed by Van Gogh's 'Starry Night.' I loved his contrasting colors...the swirling movement in the sky was like a dance sculpted in paint."
As in "Starry Night," Muratore Evans, stimulates fluid eye movement in viewers through her paintings, She says: "I want the effect of moving through a landscape although without trees or mountains, to take viewers on an inner journey."
